September-October 2024
Thank you for praying and financially supporting us in the endeavor to reach Bulgarians for Jesus, our Lord and Saviour!
We arrived back on September 11; and Thursday, the 12th, was our first service since leaving for furlough on May 7th. The church was glad to be with us again as were we with them. Directly after the service one man named Christo Atanasov came to me asking when he could be baptized. He had started coming to church before we left and now he has assurance of salvation and desires to follow Christ in baptism. I made the announcement the following Sunday and two more ladies raised their hand to follow in believer’s baptism. This is all good news that I am grateful to be able to report to you.
October 13-18 we have made arrangements to go to Scotland. Why? Because of an invitation from some American missionaries there that have Bulgarians coming to their church. Lord willing, we will be traveling there for a three day meeting to preach and teach those Bulgarians in Bulgarian!
Also Alyssa, has started Culinary Institute right here in Varna, Bulgaria, two hrs. from us. That was a big answer to her and our prayers. The Lord really showed favor to her. Since there was no room in the dorms I contacted a brother in Christ that lives near the school. He and his wife are faithful, committed, Bulgarian Christians. At a moments notice they agreed to let her stay/live with them while going to the University for the beginning. They only live about 8 miles away from the school.
When we went to get her settled in at their place he told me to just plan on her being with them for the entire school year. I’m always amazed and awed, yet not surprised, at the Lord’s goodness and favor through his people!
Furlough- The 4 months in America went great. God let us do everything and more that we had planned. We were able to see most of our family on both sides, attend a nephews wedding, take Alyssa to PCC to graduate, and visit 43 churches, most of which we had not seen since 2016. That was driving close to 13,000 miles without incident… well almost; but the situation couldn’t have occurred at a better place
and time. The power steering high pressure hose busted, but my brother in law, Eric Fair, and I were able to remove and replace the part and be able to use the vehicle the following day. Lastly, I sent a few new prayer cards to every church that we couldn’t get to this time. With that being said if anyone wants more cards please email me and we will have more sent to you.
Our other three are with us here, doing school and glad to be back where we call home. Know that I too pray for all our supporting churches, and the families that make up your congregations. God bless you!
